

It is, really – it’s sort of ground-based aviation. I thought it’s probably the closest thing to aviation. So I stayed, but all the time I was there, I was trying to get into Formula One. It started out being software, but that was the very beginning of NetWare and networks. I originally trained in engineering, so I was expecting to go to work designing aircraft, but when I finished at university, there was no aircraft industry in the UK. It’s got to be a passion because it’s your life when you’re doing this. If you didn’t like cars and technology, you just wouldn’t last. I sort of fell into IT, but yeah, you’ve got to be a petrol-head to do this job.
